God’s Answer to Your Petition is NOT Random

Review of Charles Capps’ Releasing the Ability of God Through Prayer If your prayer life highly successful—meaning you see the fruit of your prayers of petition, then this book, according to the author, is probably not for you. However, if you find your prayer life unfruitful and you are willing to make some Biblically based changes, this book is, in my experience, an amazing help. I credit it as one of three books that changed my life— probably saved my life. I will review the other two subsequently and they do NOT conflict with this book but perhaps provide a reassuring perspective.

Capps admits the book “will probably be contrary to everything religious you have ever heard about prayer. This is a strong book, I agree, and it will make uncomfortable those who “have prayed to a God who was hard to entreat and slow to hear, One who had to be pestered day after day” with begging and pleading.

I had suspected there was a better way to pray but did not find and embrace it until I came to a place in my health where I could not NOT believe God means what His Word says. I had 14+ tumors in my liver and the Word of God says Jesus’ finished work made that fact illegal according to God’s spiritual law (truth of His Word). Truth trumps facts. Medical reports are facts—God’s Word is truth. But we must realize how to move in this truth.

Capps says, “The reason for this book is found in 2 Timothy 2:24-26: ‘And the serveant of the Lord must not strive: but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God paradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will’.” KJV

New Living Translation says, v24“A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach and be patient with difficult people. v25 Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. v26Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.”

The author says of himself and it is absolutely also my own experience, “I recovered myself out of the snare of the devil by acting on God’s Word, and you can do the same. Read the book prayerfully; it is dedicated to your freedom.

” Note: I hope you have or will also read my own pdf “ebooks” available free on the www.realhealthhope.com website. “Victory in Jesus” and our grateful celebration of that victory is the rich soil where our lives are rooted when we aggressively contend for the inheritance we have in our resurrected Lord. Jesus’ obedience through the cross MUST be realized so we can, through Biblically based prayer, release ALL Jesus paid for. He reversed the curse and established God’s Kingdom on earth as in heaven, but we cannot walk in that great gift if we don’t know how to pray as God intends for us to do. Sisters and brothers, our prayer is critical.

This book focuses on prayer of petition. Prayer of thanksgiving, praise, worship are essential, and although most of us would be far stronger in our faith and every aspect of life if we dedicated ourselves to the intimacy of gratitude and remembering what the Lord has said and done, God teaches us to petition Him in specific ways and that is, I believe, a clear indication that He wants to bless us with the fruit of our petitions but we MUST learn from His Word just HOW to petition according to the precepts He has set up. God has made universal “laws” He will not operate outside of. He could, but the universe would fall apart. Our prayer MUST follow His rules. I’m not talking about legalism but about agreement with God’s intent as expressed in His Word.

Believing IN the Lord is not the same as believing the Lord. This book can put you square in the middle of powerful cooperation with a God who wants you to be there and pray from that place of power.

I beseech you to read this book with an open heart putting aside dogma and doctrine of religion and really seeking the heart of God. Reading a Charles Capps book is like a conversation with a wise grandfather….no intimidation and plenty of rich love. It is available on

and from www.charlescapps.com .

Love Came Down In Flesh

I am posting the message below on both of my blogs for Christmas.  I pray it blesses all who read it and pursue the Scriptures and references therein.  I believe it will cause your faith and discernment of the Lord’s body to soar.

From personal experience I know how illness at Christmas is a terrible stressor for the entire families of those under attack of disease. I share in my book, Slam the Door on Cancer, my own saga of a late Christmas Eve discharge from a hospital four hours away from home.

However, IF we who believe God (not just believe IN Him but believe His Word) look past the often tedious festivities of Christmas in the world, we can see the ultimate healing and health that Christ’s birth brought over two-thousand years ago. All of us can be blessed by getting off the holiday treadmill and spending time contemplating how that first glorious Christmas began the process we can all embrace–rebirth through the Lord’s resurrection we celebrate at another holy holiday–Easter.

We know that our Lord’s passion before and during His time on that cross as well as the willingness and obedience with which He poured out His precious blood IS God’s grace–God’s love poured out to heal and save us once and for all. We know that Jesus’s birth came in the “fullness of time” when the world was upside down. The Roman Empire was cruelly terroristic and ruled its victims by fear. The ancient Jewish covenant had been corrupted by Jewish leaders–Pharisees, Sadducees, and Scribes–all colluding with the Romans. The enemy who tempted the first man had a grip on the dominion over all the earth. Certainly the “law of Moses” and the animal sacrifices had proven to be past their useful time.

We think the world is tough now, but because of the first Christmas and the first Easter, it is not lost in helplessness and despair as it was when the curse of Eden was still “legal”. Jesus, Himself, called satan “the prince of this world” and he was until God took on flesh putting the perfect plan of redemption in place. God IS love and LOVE came down to that dark dark world. And Jesus did everything needed to reverse the curse and restore God’s Kingdom on Earth as in Heaven. Our participation in this Kingdom is up to us because God gives us freedom to choose being either OF the world or OF His Kingdom but not both. Col 1:13,14 (The Voice Translation) says, “You have rescued us from dark powers and brought us safely into the kingdom of your Son , whom you love and in whom we are redeemed and forgiven of our sins (through His blood).

it-is-finished-1313416-639x424The above scripture speaks of salvation and I recently learned that every single time salvation is referenced in New Testament the Greek word “sozo” is used which means “wholeness of body, soul, and spirit”. We know as Isaiah 53:5 clearly teaches (when the original language is studied) that Jesus procured our physical healing by the stripes He took on His back by the Roman “cat of nine tails” and we know He reversed the curse that held us captive to guilt and sin consciousness–even a religious spirit from Galatians 3:13 (The Voice Translation) “the Anointed One, the Liberating King, has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. It was stated in the Scriptures, ‘Everyone who hangs on a tree is cursed by God’.”

While, from a worldly perspective, facing down an enemy attack on our body or soul at Christmas is exponentially more difficult, we can draw from the Word of God in a more poignant way at Christmas. This child born while angels sing gloriously to humble shepherds. This child born of a virgin came to this earth for the very purpose of dying–of going obediently to the cross so that He, as the once and for all perfect sacrificial lamb, took all our sin and disease while we received His righteousness . It was God’s plan of redemption–of healing and wholeness of our bodies, souls, and spirits and the blessing of freedom from the oppression of the principles of the enemy carried out principally through power mongers and predator religious sects…..free from animal sacrifices that only bought temporary redemption. We are reminded at Christmas that LOVE CAME DOWN once and for all to give power to the powerless and oppressed.

Sickness is a curse and certainly it is oppression. Cancer is perhaps the most aggressive instrument the enemy of our souls can wield even to those who accept Christ the Savior. Why is that? Because so many strong believers have not come to realize that God loves them unconditionally or that salvation by God’s grace through faith is a powerful means of physical healing. Great authority comes to us as we choose to be “in the world but not of the world”. (This is a good time to read John 17) We have God-given authority to persistently command tumors out of our bodies in the mighty name of Jesus of Nazareth–the name above all names. We can do this with confidence if we embrace the truth that God ALWAYS wants His children living in physical health. We wear Jesus’s righteousness by God’s grace. We cannot earn this blessing—Jesus earned it for us.

it-is-finished-1313416-639x424Many Christians struggle to believe God loves them in spite of their shortcomings. God the Father endured allowing His ONLY beloved Son to go all the way through the passion of the cross taking EVERY sin and disease (see Deut 28) to that cross with Him. He declared His mission “finished”……our enemy’s dominion on earth was finished. This enemy still steals, lies, and attacks but he has no legal right to do so unless we take his accusations to heart and allow him to steal our faith in God’s Word. Our healing is assured in God’s Word–all through God’s Word. (see John 10:10) That Word expresses God’s intent. When the words we speak aloud over our bodies matches God’s Word, our intent lines up with His. What could be more powerful? Speak Health!

I recommend you read Annette Capps’ small but important book, Quantum Faith, to give you empowering Scriptural insights.

Is It Always God’s Will to Heal Us?

Readers,

I apologize for not posting for a while.  We have been doing some long needed maintenance to the web site and I’ve had to do some unanticipated traveling.  But, in this post, I want to share a teaching from my own most encouraging pastor–Joseph Prince. You can subscribe to these daily devotionals at www.josephprince.com.   Each one is as powerful and applicable as this one.  All are rooted deeply in God’s grace and His word.   From Pastor Prince today:

In the world folks think "seeing is believing". In the Kingdom of God, "believing is seeing." We get past believing and rest in KNOWING He is faithful.

In the world folks think “seeing is believing”. In the Kingdom of God, “believing is seeing.” We get past believing and rest in KNOWING He is faithful.

John 14:7
If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

“Someone once told me that just because you ask God for something, it does not mean that He will give it to you. Quoting 1 John 5:14–15, he said that we first have to ask according to His will before He hears and gives us what we ask of Him.

Of course, we do not ask for things that are against God’s will or Word. But what is normally implied in the earlier statement is that we don’t always know what God’s will for us is—“what will be, will be”. But didn’t Jesus say, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father”? (John 14:9) This means that if you want to know what the Father’s will, mind, heart or attitude toward you and your family is, just look at Jesus in the Gospel stories.

So if your child is sick, is it God’s will to heal him? Well, look at Jesus and see how He ministered to children who were sick—the Syro-Phoenician’s daughter who was demon-possessed (Mark 7:24–30), Jairus’ daughter who was dead (Mark 5:22–24, 35–43), and the widow of Nain’s only son who had died and was about to be buried. (Luke 7:12–15) Jesus cast out the demon. He raised the dead. He healed them all!

Beloved, don’t say, “We can never know God’s will. Sometimes He heals, sometimes He doesn’t. He may bless us, but He may also take away our blessings.” The Jesus of the Bible never made anyone sick. He never made anyone poor. He made the little become much with 12 baskets full of leftovers. (Matthew 14:20) He gave a net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fish to fishermen. (Luke 5:6–7)

My friend, the Jesus of the Bible loves to heal, deliver, prosper and save people. This Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) And He says to you today, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” So you can know God’s will for you. You can see what He will do for you when you know the Jesus of the Bible and what He did.”

I urge you to visit www.josephprince.com if you want to move from hoping to knowing your future is bright in Christ.

An Amazing Dose of Hope

Occasionally I am strongly compelled to share with you a teaching from Pastor Joseph Prince (www.josephprince.com ).   Throughout my awakening and healing I’ve been led to several good Christian teachers each of whom seem to have taken me a bit higher in my faith level.  Joseph Prince somehow came across my spiritual radar screen this year and his teaching as given my own faith a quantum leap–literally.   I suggest you consider subscribing to his daily devotionals of which the following is one.   His teaching always encompasses wisdom regarding physical healing.  I believe you will be blessed and your faith with soar from the foundation of hope it offers.

Ruth 4:15

And may he be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age…

Famine impoverished the life of Naomi, an Israelite. But it was the deaths of her husband and two sons that left her completely destitute. (Ruth 1:1–5) Or so she thought, until Boaz, who was a wealthy and close relative, entered her life.

As her kinsman-redeemer, Boaz married Ruth, Naomi’s widowed daughter-in-law. And through that union, Naomi had a grandson. The birth of her grandson gave her a new lease of life, causing the womenfolk in her village to declare that the restorer of life and the nourisher of her old age had come into her life. (Ruth 4:14–16)

Boaz is a picture of Jesus, our kinsman-redeemer. Jesus became our kinsman when He was born into this world as one like us. And He became our Redeemer when He paid with His life and blood at the cross to redeem us.

Jesus gave Himself to us as our restorer of life and nourisher of our old age. When the restorer of life is in our lives, what we have lost can be restored. (Joel 2:25−26) And with the nourisher of our old age in us, our bodies can be gloriously renewed even though we advance in our years.

That is why when Moses died at the age of 120, his eyes were not dim and his natural vigor was not diminished. (Deuteronomy 34:7) Caleb, at 85 years old, could still drive out the giants from the land. God had literally nourished his body and made it strong for war. (Joshua 14:11) Sarah was certainly rejuvenated in her old age by God for she was still desirable to a king at the age of 90. (Genesis 20:1–2) God even renewed her womb. She received strength to conceive seed (Hebrews 11:11), giving birth to Isaac in her old age.

Beloved, God is outside of time and your faith in Him brings you into this timeless zone. There, what the years have stolen will be restored. And even as your years increase, you will not grow weak and weary because the restorer of life and nourisher of your old age is in you!
